8:45 AM | Opening Keynote: Gholdy Muhammad presenting Cultivating Genius and Joy in Education through Culturally and Historically Responsive Pedagogies

Dr. Gholdy Muhammad offers a unique, culturally, and historically responsive approach to cultivating genius and joy in education. This approach is essential for accelerating the growth of all students and uniquely youth of color, who have been traditionally underserved in learning standards, policies, and school practices. She will present her equity framework, called the HILL Model, to help educators develop students’ histories, identities, literacies, and liberation.


10:30 AM | Morning Sessions

Choose from sessions that explore topics like new classroom books, equity, small group instruction, English Language Learners, brain research, science integration, laws, student voice, sound walls, coaching, assistive technology, and more.


12:00 PM | Lunch Buffets

Join us for lunch at the

  2. Stories that Sing Luncheon Panel of partnering cultural organizations presenting Telling All Our Stories:  Worcester Cultural Organizations as Partners or

2:00 PM | Afternoon Sessions

Choose from sessions that explore topics like independent reading, teacher-coach relationships, secondary literacy, vocabulary, social emotional learning, purposeful reading, writing instruction, illustrations, poetry, and more.


3:30 PM  | Keynote: Kelly Gallagher presenting Liberating Writers: Moving Students from Compliance to Engagement.

Don Graves often told young writers, “You have stories only you can tell.” Moving students away from compliant writing and into engaged writing starts with student stories. In this keynote, Kelly will discuss critical decisions and moves teachers can make to ensure authentic engagement in writers. 


4:30 PM | Meet and Greet

Come meet other passionate educators and connect with your MRA local councils. This social time will include dessert, music, BINGO prizes, giveaways, and auction baskets.


5:00 PM  |  Authors and Appetizers

Enjoy an evening where you will have an opportunity to meet twelve new and experienced authors, purchase signed books, and connect over food and spirit.
